Melanie “Mel C” Chisholm marked her marriage to Australian model Chris Dingwall with a private wedding celebration in Cumbria, England, wearing a bespoke gown created by longtime friend and former Spice Girls bandmate Victoria Beckham.
The lakeside ceremony took place on July 18 at a private country property and followed the couple’s earlier civil wedding in Australia. Rather than planning a single event, the newlyweds chose to complete the legal formalities overseas before gathering family and close friends in the UK for a larger celebration.

A wedding dress with a personal history
Beckham’s involvement extended beyond designing the bridal look for the English ceremony.
Before the couple’s Australian legal wedding, Chisholm had intended to wear a custom slip dress ordered from Beckham’s fashion label. When the original garment was not ready in time, Beckham offered a practical solution by lending Chisholm the same ivory lace-trimmed dress she had previously worn herself to a wedding in 2022. The borrowed gown became the bride’s traditional “something borrowed.”
For the celebration in Cumbria, Beckham created a fresh version tailored specifically for Chisholm. The minimalist design featured delicate lace detailing, slim straps and an extended train, reflecting the understated style that Mel C has long favored. Reports indicate the train was added after a suggestion from Chisholm’s daughter, Scarlet.
The bridal ensemble was completed with champagne-colored satin heels and a coordinating clutch from Beckham’s fashion collection.
Spice Girls reunion at the celebration
Although Victoria Beckham was unable to attend the ceremony because of prior commitments, her presence was felt through the dress she designed and the earlier gown she lent her friend.
Several other Spice Girls members attended the celebration, including Emma Bunton, Melanie Brown and Geri Halliwell-Horner, turning the wedding into a rare reunion for much of the iconic pop group.
A relationship that led to marriage
Chisholm and Dingwall first met through the dating app Raya in late 2023 and later made their relationship public. Dingwall proposed during a trip to Mallorca in July 2025, leading to the couple’s two-stage wedding celebrations the following year.

The ceremony attracted interest not only because it marked the marriage of one of Britain’s best-known pop stars but also because it highlighted the enduring friendship between members of the Spice Girls decades after the group’s rise to international fame.
